Birdhouse had helped this client design their previous home and was excited to collaborate with them again. This time it was from the ground up, consulting on a house they were building just outside of Omaha. They wanted a home where their kids and pets could thrive, something both comfortable and beautifully designed. With experience in the construction business, the homeowners knew exactly how they wanted to build it out, plus they had great taste. They just needed a sharp design perspective to pull it together and make those final touches feel thoughtfully complete. Birdhouse helped select interior finishes, furniture, and art, and partnered with them throughout the design and build process.
“When I got to the point where I was overwhelmed and wanted to do something fun but was scared, I could get Jessica’s help.”
- Ranae, homeowner
Working with this client for a second time provided a strong foundation for a great design collaboration. We communicated well to develop a plan that kept an overall neutral palette for paint and finishes, but was bolder in other areas with added pattern (wallpaper!) and rich jewel tones in the furniture and art. The end result is a sometimes daring, but always inviting and approachable style that is reflective of the homeowners' personalities. It’s become the homebase where the kids and their friends can (and want to!) hang out.
